HOWARD – Delbert R. Eyster, 78, of Apple Valley, passed away on Dec. 12, 2020, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on Aug. 26, 1942, in Thomas, Okla., to James Roy and Helen (Frey) Eyster.

Delbert graduated from the Messiah College with a bachelor's in art. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and held the Corn Bible Academy in Oklahoma dear to his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Lois (Horst) Eyster, whom he married on July 1, 1969; daughter-in-law, Tracy Jenkins Beach of Apple Valley; granddaughter, Shannon Eyster (Kyle) Graham of Apple Valley; two grandsons, Cody (Skylar) Jenkins of Jelloway and Dakota (Annie) Blakely of Loudonville; great-grandchildren, Jude Jenkins, Finn Jenkins and Boone Graham; siblings, Norma Jean Harder, Stanley (Sherry) Eyster, Janice Fletcher, Dwight (Leah) Eyster, Judith (Ray) Eyster and Cynthia “Cindy” (Gene) Foust; and granddog, Duke.

Besides his parents, Delbert was preceded in death by his son, Shan Eyster; and two brothers, Larry and Keith Eyster.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Lasater Funeral Home on Wednesday at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
