FREDERICKTOWN – Phyllis R. Foster, 93, of Fredericktown, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Guernsey County, to the late Mahlon and Estella (Winters) Casterline.
Phyllis was a retired teacher for the Gibsonburg Exempted Village Schools. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon and volunteered with Interchurch Social Services.
She is survived by her children, the Rev. James (Brenda) Miller of Zanesville, Paul (Georgie) Miller of Lynchburg, David Miller of Fredericktown, Daniel (LeAnne) Miller of Terrell, Texas, Tim Miller of Zanesville, Ellen (Charles) Moore of Fredericktown, Betsy Wood of Fredericktown; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, David Charles of Freemont.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husbands, the Rev. Audry Miller in 1988 and Harold Foster in 2002; a daughter, Christine Charles; a grandson, Michael Miller; and her sister, Christine Caddell.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Phyllis will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, at First Church of the Nazarene, 807 Coshocton Ave. in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Joe Proudfoot officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Phyllis will be laid to rest beside her husband, Audry, in Forest Cemetery of Fredericktown.
Due to the current health situation, masks will be required and social distancing will be observed.
