HOWARD – Dorothy A. “Dotty” Pelton, 61, of Howard, passed away on Nov. 22, 2020, at her home in Apple Valley, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Dec. 21, 1958, in Toledo.
Dotty attended St. Ursula Academy in Toledo. In her teens, she excelled as a competitive water skier in Florida, also performing with the Busch Gardens Tampa Bay water ski show. Following her love of water and boating, she moved to Connecticut where she was a dock master for the New Haven Yacht Club.
After accepting a position with Kmart Corp., Dotty became a district manager and was transferred to her home state of Ohio, eventually moving to Apple Valley. She was happy to become a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon.
She is survived by her partner of 17 years, Polly Dunlevy of Howard; her cousin, Donna Spencer of Coral Springs, Fla.; and her dog, Jet.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
