FREDERICKTOWN – Karen Jean Porter, 66, of Fredericktown, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 8, 1954, in Mount Vernon, to Stanley and Joyce (Soles) Anderson. 

Karen worked at Chattanooga Glass, TRW, Rolls-Royce and Siemens until they closed their doors. She loved traveling, and her favorite spot was the Grand Cayman Islands, which she traveled to over 20 times. Karen enjoyed crafts, but her biggest enjoyment was being around her family, especially her granddaughter. 

She is survived by her loving husband of over 35 years, Gil Porter; a son, Cameron (Jillianne) Porter; granddaughter, Ellie Porter; her father; sister, Julie (Scott) Zimmerman; and canine companion, Callie. 

Along with her mother, Karen is preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Boeshart. 

A special thanks goes out to Debbie Vanbreemen for donating one of her kidneys for Karen. 

A graveside service will be held at Bloomfield Cemetery in Sparta, Ohio; with Pastor Erin Porter officiating.
