Congratulations to the 2020 recipients of a $2,000.00 merit scholarship from the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc:
- Ms. Mallory Arnold, of Knox County, is majoring in Nursing at Ashland University to study Nursing. Mallory attended Knox County Career Center for Health Tech where she received her STNA license. She is currently working as an STNA at LSS The Good Shepherd in Ashland where she has been taught about the importance of bedside manner in the aging and disabled population. They value one-on-one time, and this creates meaningful relationships with patients. Her career goal is to receive her Bachelor of Science in nursing. Mallory wants to work in the medical field because she wants to change lives for people in need.
- Ms. Melissa Mickley, of Knox County, is majoring in Pharmacy at The Ohio State University: College of Pharmacy. Melissa has a strong desire to grow and succeed in the field of pharmacy. She has deep a care for current patients, as well as future patients. She has thrown herself into many voluntary roles in clinics and pharmacies around her. Melissa is also currently working at Knox Community Hospital and Mount Carmel East Hospital as a Pharmacy Intern. Melissa’s goal upon graduation is to continue assisting and improving the lives of the aging and disabled population.
