Mount Vernon announces schedule for free family movie night series at Ariel-Foundation Park

The City of Mount Vernon announced the return of its Free Family Movie Night series, offering five outdoor film screenings from early summer through late autumn. All movies will be shown at the Schnormeier Event Center in Ariel-Foundation Park, located at 201 S. Norton Street.

The lineup begins with "Shrek" (PG) on Saturday, June 27 at 8 p.m., followed by "Jurassic Park" (PG-13) on July 18, "Grease" (PG) on August 22, and "Encanto" (PG) on September 26, each also starting at 8 p.m. The series concludes with a special Halloween matinee showing of "Hocus Pocus" (PG) on Saturday, October 31 at 2 p.m., designed to accommodate earlier sunset times and seasonal changes.

Jeff Derr, Recreation Director, said, "We are thrilled to bring our community to the Schnormeier Event Center for another summer season of outdoor movies. This series is all about bringing neighbors, friends, and families together in a relaxed setting to enjoy great films completely free of charge."

Admission to all events is free. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early for preferred seating and should bring their own blankets and lawn chairs as seating is open. The City expressed appreciation for the support provided by Ariel~Foundation Park Conservancy in making the event possible.

In case of severe inclement weather, any delays or cancellations will be posted on the City's official social media pages and website.
