Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County awards $18,500 in scholarships

The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County announced on its website that it has awarded $18,500 in scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. The recipients are Lane Mussard, Micah Phillips, Teagan Tyson, Cooper Lane, Tyce Davidson, Ainsley Bonaudi, Christopher Hawthorne, Hannah Hofferberth and Oliver Griffith.

Lane Mussard received the club’s "Big Ten Thousand" award. He is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and will major in Food, Agriculture and Biological Engineering. Mussard is the son of Martin and Jana Mussard.

Other scholarship recipients include Micah Phillips, a Fredericktown High School graduate who will major in Public Policy, Analysis and Law; Teagan Tyson, a Mount Vernon High School graduate majoring in Radiologic Science and Therapy; Cooper Lane from Fredericktown High School who will study Engineering Technology; and Tyce Davidson from Mount Vernon High School who plans to major in Turfgrass Management Technology. Current student Ainsley Bonaudi is a sophomore majoring in Environmental Policy and Decision Making. Previous "Big 10" winners continuing to receive awards are Christopher Hawthorne, Hannah Hofferberth and Oliver Griffith.

According to the announcement, the Ohio State University Alumni Scholarship Awards are merit-based scholarships awarded to students recommended by the Scholarship Committee of the OSU Alumni Club of Knox County, who are graduating from a Knox County school or living in Knox County.

Scholarships are funded through membership dues to The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Knox County, as well as donations and proceeds from the annual Buckeye Spirit Event held each October. This year’s event is scheduled for October 27, 2026.
