The Sound Bath Experience will be held on March 6 at 6 p.m. at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre, 1451 Gambier Road in Mount Vernon.

Led by Michele Petersen of Zenergy Sound Therapy, the event offers participants a chance to unwind and restore balance through meditation and sound.

Space is limited, and registration is required. The cost is $25 per person. To reserve a spot, call Michele Petersen at 740-358-3139.

Participants will be invited to sit or lie comfortably as a facilitator leads a gentle meditation, followed by calming sounds from crystal and Tibetan singing bowls. Organizers say the tones are designed to relax the nervous system, settle racing thoughts, and promote deep rest, similar to meditation or restorative sleep.

Sound baths have grown in popularity as part of the wellness movement. Studies suggest vibrations can entrain brain waves into relaxed states, reduce stress, and promote emotional balance. Tibetan bowls, used for centuries in meditation practices, add a grounding element to the experience.

"If your body has been holding more than usual lately, this might be exactly what you need," Petersen said.

The sound bath is open to anyone seeking relaxation, whether stressed, overwhelmed, fatigued, or simply curious about sound therapy. Petersen encourages participants to "come as you are, get cozy, and allow yourself to receive."

Guests should bring a yoga mat, blanket, and pillow for comfort. Optional items such as an eye mask or a journal may enhance the experience.

Petersen, a Certified Vibrational Sound Therapy Practitioner (VSTCP), helps people discover tranquility in the turbulence of daily routines.
