Pediatric care is available for children in Knox County at the Knox County Community Health Center. Families can access well-child and sick visits at Mount Vernon or Danville Health Clinics, with office hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 740-399-8008. According to the Knox County Community Health Center, there is no need for families to drive long distances for these services.

The health center says regular check-ups allow providers to monitor growth, nutrition, physical activity, developmental milestones, and emotional health. Timely care is also available for common childhood illnesses, minor injuries, and other health concerns.

Immunizations are provided to ensure children are up to date on Ohio-required vaccines such as DTaP/Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Polio, and Varicella. The center says families can catch up on missed doses with personalized schedules.

Parents or guardians must accompany their children during visits. Most insurance plans are accepted, and a sliding fee scale based on family income is offered to help keep care affordable. The center states that no child is turned away because of an inability to pay.

In 2025, the health centers provided about 28,000 clinic visits at six locations in Mount Vernon and Danville. These visits included counseling, dental care, and medical care. The center says providers take time to listen to families, answer questions, and help caregivers make choices for their child’s health.
