On February 14, the Mount Vernon Nazarene University men’s and women’s track and field teams participated in the Tiffin Robinson Family Open, hosted by Tiffin University.
The event saw several top performances from MVNU athletes. William Baker finished first in the men's one mile run with a time of 4:27.00. Tyler Shipley earned second place in pole vault, clearing a height of 4.75 meters. Keaton Curnutte placed second in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 23.30, while Simon Rohwer took third in the men’s 800 meters at 1:58.31. Brayden Wiles secured third place finishes in both the men’s 200 meters (23.36) and high jump (1.93m). Owen Rair finished third in the men’s one mile with a time of 4:44.43.
For the women, Makenna Langford won the women’s 400 meters with a time of 1:00.00, followed closely by Maddy Lengacher who finished second at 1:00.02. Leah Cooper took second place in the women’s 60 meters (7.94) and third in the women’s 200 meters (26.46). Loey Hallabrin was second in the women’s 800 meters at 2:21.34, while Isabel Henderson finished second in the women’s 200 meters (26.45) and first in long jump with a mark of 5.40m. Janelle Gehman placed third in the women’s one mile (5:51.86), and Kate Ruffle was third in long jump (5.08m).
The next competition for MVNU will be at Marion, Indiana for the Indoor Crossroads League Championships on February 20 and February 21.
