Shipley secures second consecutive athlete award with record-setting pole vault

Tyler Shipley, Men's Indoor Track & Field | MVNU

Tyler Shipley has been named the Crossroads League Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. This recognition follows his performance at the Bob Shannon Invitational on February 7, where he placed first in pole vault with a new school record height of 4.90 meters. His achievement contributed to Mount Vernon Nazarene University's (MVNU) team score of 76.50, securing third place among 12 teams.

The previous week, Shipley earned similar honors by reaching the NAIA A Standard mark of 4.85 meters. MVNU is set to compete next at the Tiffin Robinson Family Open on February 14 at Tiffin University.
