East Knox fell to St. Peter’s 56-54 in a closely contested boys basketball game, as the Bulldogs pushed the matchup down to the final moments before narrowly missing out on a win.

The game was played on Dec. 22, at East Knox High School. The contest was tightly played throughout, with neither team able to create significant separation.

East Knox delivered a strong all-around effort, matching St. Peter’s intensity on both ends of the floor. The Bulldogs stayed within striking distance for the entirety of the game, using disciplined defense and timely scoring to keep pressure on their opponent. East Knox made a late push in the closing minutes and had opportunities to change the outcome, but St. Peter’s was able to hold on in the final possessions.

Despite the result, the performance showcased East Knox’s competitiveness and resilience, particularly in a new matchup against an unfamiliar opponent. The Bulldogs’ ability to execute in high-pressure situations kept the game undecided until the final buzzer.

East Knox will look to build on that effort in its next game against Cardington-Lincoln. The matchup is scheduled for Jan. 3 at Cardington-Lincoln High School, where the Bulldogs will aim to turn a strong showing into a road victory.

Because the Dec. 22 game marked the first meeting between the two programs, the 56-54 result stands as the opening chapter in the East Knox–St. Peter’s series.
