Knox County high schools are set to participate in the annual Food For The Hungry (FFTH) Drive, which will run from November 24 to December 5, 2025. This year's goal is to raise $340,000 and collect as much non-perishable food as possible. Schools across Knox County are encouraged to contribute to this cause.

The drive highlights the need for specific items such as canned fruits and vegetables, soups, canned meals like ravioli and Spaghetti-Os, baked beans, and canned meat. Although food donations are appreciated, cash contributions are particularly effective; every dollar donated translates into $4.56 of purchasing power through the Mid-Ohio Collective.

Several schools have already started their fundraising efforts. The Knox County Career Center organized a car show in May and sold FFTH-themed apparel in early November. East Knox High School students raised over $600 through a "Penny Wars" initiative.

"The classroom in each participating school that contributes the highest number of food items per student will be treated to a pizza party," according to organizers. Additionally, top donors from each school will be recognized during the Food For The Hungry broadcast at the Knox County Memorial Building on December 12.

Students will also be acknowledged on live video streams at www.mvnu.tv and FFTH’s YouTube channel, along with broadcasts on local radio stations including 100.9 FM and 93.7 FM HD2 - WMVO.

Community members can follow updates on Facebook (@FoodForTheHungryKnoxCounty) and Instagram (@FFTHCares). Those interested in hosting events or collections can fill out a form on the FFTH website. More information about volunteering or donating is available at www.FoodForTheHungryCares.org.

The annual FFTH Live Broadcast is scheduled for December 12 at the Memorial Theater inside the Knox Memorial, continuing a long-standing tradition in Knox County.
