Licking County's largest 5k event, the Granville Turkey Trot, will take place on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 27, with the race beginning at 9:30 a.m. in downtown Granville. Proceeds will benefit the Food Pantry Network of Licking County (FPN), supporting families in need during the holiday season.
Registration is available online at granvilleturkeytrot.com through the Granville Recreation District’s streamlined system. First-time users must create a household account before registering themselves, children, dogs, or virtual participants. For assistance, call 740-587-1976.
In-person registration and packet pickup for the Granville Turkey Trot will be available at three locations. Participants can stop by the Wing Ding on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Opera House Park in downtown Granville. Additional opportunities will be offered at St. Luke’s Parish House, located at 118 South Main Street, on Tuesday, Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon, and again on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For those registering on race day, packet pickup will be open from 8 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, at Opera House Park, just before the 5K begins.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early at Opera House Park, located at Broadway and Main Street, for check-in between 8 to 9 a.m.
Registration fees are $45 for adults, $20 for children ages 6–13, and $5 for dogs (includes a bandanna). Children 5 and under participate free. T-shirts are available while supplies last, so early registration is recommended.
Presented by St. Luke’s Church and sponsored by local businesses, the non-timed 5K run/walk has become a beloved tradition for runners, walkers, and families of all ages.
"This event has been a community favorite since 2005 and has raised more than $1 million to help our network distribute food throughout Licking County, OH," according to FPN.
