Mount Vernon City Schools has highlighted available food support resources for families facing food insecurity in the Mount Vernon and Knox County area. The district, in collaboration with United Way of Knox County, is working to ensure that community members are aware of where they can access assistance.

According to the district, a comprehensive list of local food pantries, weekly hot meal programs, and senior meal services has been compiled. This list includes addresses, operating hours, and links to each resource location. The aim is to provide accessible information for those who may need groceries or warm meals.

A spokesperson from Mount Vernon City Schools stated: "No one should have to navigate these challenges alone, and our district is committed to making sure families know where to turn when support is needed."

Community members are encouraged to download the attached resource list provided by the district. If any additional resources need to be included or updated, individuals can contact the district office at 740-397-7422.

The school district’s initiative reflects ongoing efforts within Knox County to address food insecurity by connecting residents with supportive services.
