The Mount Vernon Nazarene University women's volleyball team, ranked 12th nationally, secured a victory against Spring Arbor University in a recent conference match held in Spring Arbor, Michigan. The match took place on Saturday, November 1. The Lady Cougars began the game with a strong performance, winning the first set 25-17. Although Spring Arbor managed to tie the second set at 14-14, MVNU regained control and won it 25-21.
Spring Arbor fought back in the third set with a 25-20 win, narrowing MVNU's lead to 2-1. However, MVNU dominated the fourth set with a decisive 25-14 victory, clinching their 22nd win of the season. Freshman Morgan Schlabach was instrumental in the win with 15 kills and 10 digs. Libby Evanshine contributed 13 kills, while Evelyn Brown added another 12. Reagan Nuss provided significant support with 48 assists, and Jaelyn Tang anchored the defense with an impressive 32 digs.
Looking ahead, the Lady Cougars are scheduled to face the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana for their final regular-season match on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:00 p.m.
