The 15th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk is set to take place on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Organized by WeRunMV, the event will support Food for the Hungry of Knox County. Instead of a participation fee, attendees are encouraged to make monetary or non-perishable food donations.

According to organizers, every dollar raised allows community partner agencies to purchase $4.56 worth of food from the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Registration begins at 8 AM with the race starting at 9 AM. Participants should gather five minutes before the start time and can park at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Auditorium on campus.

The event welcomes runners and walkers of all ages, including families and their dogs. Scott Burgess can be contacted for more information at 740-326-0750. Updates are available on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram under Food for the Hungry Knox County.

Food for the Hungry encourages community involvement through events, donations, volunteering, or hosting personal collection events. Those interested in volunteering can reach out to Kathy Brechler via phone or email.

Additionally, FFTH LIVE will commence on December 12 from 9 AM to 5 PM, broadcasting on local radio stations and streaming online. The broadcast will originate from Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon with donation collection points available throughout Knox County.

Food for the Hungry continues its mission of working together to care for neighbors in need.
