Commissioner Duane Flowers | Licking County

The Licking County Commission has adopted a revised table of organization for the Transit Department, incorporating additional operators and mechanics. This decision comes slightly more than three months after the previous version was approved.

According to a September 25 agenda, the Licking County Commissioners had initially adopted the prior version of the table on June 5. Executive Director Matthew Allision presented the revised table, which is now available in the office of the Licking County Human Resources Department.

The agenda outlines that the executive director is positioned at the top of the organization. This role directly supervises a fiscal manager, a deputy director, and three staff members: an administrative coordinator, an administrative assistant, and a marketing and communications specialist.

Further details from the agenda reveal that the fiscal manager oversees a fiscal analyst and a data and performance analyst. The deputy director manages a vehicle maintenance supervisor, a dispatch supervisor, and three transportation supervisors. The vehicle maintenance supervisor's team includes three mechanics and a bus detailer. Five dispatchers report to the dispatch supervisor, while 60 bus operators are under the supervision of the three transportation supervisors.

According to information from the Licking County website, Licking County Transit provides both demand-response service and deviated fixed-route service for county residents. Bus stops are detailed in its route guide available at transit.lickingcounty.gov. Residents can schedule demand-response service for curb-to-curb transport by calling 740-670-5185 (option No. 1) or 1-800-350-7071.
