Centerburg High School is preparing to celebrate its annual Homecoming Spirit Week, scheduled to take place from Monday, Sept. 29, through Friday, Oct. 3.
This highly anticipated event invites students to express their school pride through a series of themed dress-up days, fostering a sense of unity, enthusiasm, and friendly competition among the student body.
Each day of the week will feature a distinct theme designed to encourage creativity and participation. Monday will kick off the festivities with Pajama Day, allowing students to arrive in their coziest sleepwear. Tuesday follows with a Western theme, inviting cowboy hats and boots into the halls. Wednesday brings a tropical flair with Hawaiian Day, while Thursday encourages students to “Dress as Your Type,” offering a playful opportunity for self-expression. The week concludes with Pink Out Friday, a vibrant show of solidarity and spirit through pink-themed attire.
To further enhance engagement, a best-dressed contest will be held throughout the week. One student from each grade level will be selected based on their creativity and commitment to the daily themes. Winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the Homecoming dance. Additionally, students will vote for the best-dressed faculty member, who will be recognized with a special prize at the end of the week.
Centerburg High School also invites the community to attend its upcoming Homecoming Parade on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m. It will take place around the high school campus and will feature a lively procession of student groups, floats, and community participants. Attendees are encouraged to bring bags to collect candy along the route.
Following the parade, a community pep rally and senior auction will be held in the school gymnasium, culminating in the announcement of this year’s Homecoming Queen.
Youth organizations interested in participating in the parade are welcome and encouraged to join. To register a group or request additional information, please contact Mrs. Danielle Mincks at danielle.mincks@centerburgschools.org.
