On Sunday, Sept. 14, the Granville Center for the Arts invites the community to an afternoon of inspiration, imagination, and community connection. Families can enjoy reading and discussing Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote at 1 p.m. and craft arts at 3 p.m.
Join fellow book lovers for two hours for the next installment of the Literary & Reading Club featuring Don Quixote to explore the legendary tale of a nobleman who, inspired by romantic ideals, sets out as a self-declared knight—only to mistake windmills for giants in his quest for glory. The club offers a welcoming space for both seasoned readers and newcomers, with snacks and refreshments provided, to keep the conversation flowing.
While reading the book in advance is encouraged, it’s not required. Those interested in picking up a copy can visit Readers’ Garden Bookstore, located at 115 N Prospect St in Granville.
From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Girl Scout Troop 7615, in partnership with the Granville Center for the Arts, will hold a craft session as part of their journey to earn the Bronze Award. The event is designed especially for children in grades K–3.
Craft stations will include a variety of engaging activities: children can create a smiling serpent inspired by the western hog-nosed snake, build a 3D furry friend while learning about pet rescue, and decorate a pot to grow nutritious chia seeds. Other stations feature owl-themed conservation crafts, expressive art projects, and a healthy fruit dip-making activity. All supplies, snacks, and drinks are provided, ensuring a stress-free and joyful experience for attendees.
Both events will take place at the Granville Center for the Arts, located at 119 West Broadway in Granville, Ohio.
