Kegs & Corks Craft Beer & Wine Fest
The Knox County Chamber of Commerce, together with sponsor Koorsen Fire & Security, invites you to the debut of the Kegs & Corks Craft Beer & Wine Fest on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 5-10 p.m. in Downtown Mount Vernon, with VIP entry at 4 p.m., where guests can enjoy tastings from more than 20 breweries including Goose Island, Wolf Ridge, Millersburg, and Happy Street Brü Werks, plus wine selections, food trucks like Big Pappy’s BBQ and Charm Thai on Wheels, live entertainment, and a vibrant community atmosphere; tickets include sample pours, a souvenir glass, food vouchers, and access to festival activities supporting Chamber programs and local economic growth.
Knox County Symphony Children's Concert
The Knox County Symphony Children’s Concert will take place on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Ariel-Foundation Park in Mount Vernon, offering a free, family-friendly afternoon designed especially for young audiences, featuring a lively one-hour program where children are encouraged to dance, move, explore instruments up close, and even try conducting the orchestra, while the Gund Gallery at Kenyon College enhances the experience with creative art activities; following the performance, families can enjoy cookies, cider, and meet the musicians, making it a fun and interactive opportunity for kids to connect with music and the arts in an engaging, welcoming environment, with chairs available on-site or guests welcome to bring their own.
