National Voter Registration Day!
Mark your calendar for National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon, where the library, in partnership with the Knox County Board of Elections and the American Library Association, will provide voter registration forms and information for those who are new voters, have recently moved, or need to update their name or marital status, offering the community a chance to get involved in local democracy and ensure every eligible voice is ready to be heard.
SonFest Christian Music Festival
Get ready for an unforgettable day of music and community at SonFest Christian Music Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 1-6 p.m. at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon, where outdoor festivities, food trucks, and vendor shopping are free and open to all, while ticketed concert performances feature an inspiring 2025 lineup headlined by ELEVATION RHYTHM, with additional sets from John Mark McMillan, Citizens, and Rock City Worship, offering worship, alternative rock, and faith-driven music; general admission is $40, VIP $75, group/child tickets $25, and kids under 3 are free.
