The East Knox Board of Education held its regular meeting on August 14, 2025, at the Elementary Cafeteria. The meeting, led by President Lindsay Bush, included the Pledge of Allegiance and a reading of the district's vision, mission, and core values.
During the Treasurer's report, several financial recommendations were approved. These included accepting a $7,500 grant from Knox County Foundation for robotics equipment and approving consulting services from Julian and Grube for $3,420 annually. Budgetary amendments for various school improvement programs were also passed.
Superintendent recommendations covered agreements with ProCare Therapy for musical therapy services and McKibben and Monte for speech and occupational therapy. A technical services agreement with NBEC/NWOCA was approved alongside student handbooks for the new school year. Bus routes were confirmed as impractical for some students who will receive transportation compensation instead.
Personnel decisions included paying a stipend to Alice Noll for mentoring a student teacher and hiring Jaimye Weaver as a long-term substitute. Resignations from Bailey Sprague and Michell Iser were accepted. Amanda Prince was employed as a Spanish Teacher under a one-year contract.
Supplemental contracts were approved for various coaching positions including Gage Steinmetz as Head Baseball Coach. Substitute teachers and aides were also appointed for the upcoming school year.
The board acknowledged Garrett Bradley’s termination of contract post-July 10 without consent.
