Families attending Centerburg Elementary School's Back-to-School Open House on August 11 will have the opportunity to meet two of the community's leading physicians in addition to meeting teachers and touring classrooms.
According to Knox Community Hospital, from 5 to 7 p.m., Dr. Emmanuel Melanakos, a pediatrician, and Dr. Leshitha Pilapitiya, a family medicine physician at Centerburg Family Medicine, will be present at the event. The hospital emphasizes that this occasion allows parents, students, and community members to ask questions, learn about available health services, and build connections with the local medical team.
Hospital representatives say the open house is part of their ongoing effort to engage with residents and make healthcare more accessible. Melanakos and Pilapitiya will share information on services provided by Knox Community Hospital, including pediatric and family care, preventive health screenings, and resources for families.
The event is free and open to the public. Organizers encourage attendees to visit the hospital’s booth to greet the doctors and explore how Knox Community Hospital can support their health needs throughout the year.
