The Mount Vernon Lions Club will be holding a 50/50 Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 9. The community is invited to participate and have a chance to win up to $1,000.
The event will be held at The Station Break Senior Center, located at 160 Howard Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio. This tournament will be limited to 32 teams, with a registration fee of $100 per team. Participants will engage in a double-elimination format, with each game lasting 15 minutes. Teams will play to 21 points, with no bust, and must win by a margin of two points.
The top three teams will be awarded cash prizes based on a percentage of total entry fees, along with complimentary entry to the next tournament. First place will receive 31.25% of total entries, amounting to up to $1,000, plus free registration for the following competition. The second-place team will earn 12.5%, capped at $400, along with a free tournament entry. Third place will be awarded 6.25%, up to $200, also including free participation in the next event.
Fifty percent of all entry fees will be donated to vision-related charities.
