Mount Vernon Music and Arts Festival returns on Thursday, Aug. 7, and will continue through Sunday, Aug 10, offering four days of cultural celebration and live entertainment.
Celebrated as one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events, the festival offers a diverse slate of live performances, artisan exhibitions, and interactive experiences for attendees of all ages.
On Thursday, there will be a performance from an emerging country artist, Jess Kellie Adams, at 6:30 at The Woodward Opera House. Guests will also enjoy the opening of artisan booths, food vendors, and community showcases lining the festival grounds, setting a lively tone for the days ahead.
The festival expands its footprint across the Public Square the following day, featuring a curated collection of visual artworks from local and regional creatives. Gallery pop-ups, open-air exhibits, and musical interludes will offer visitors a full spectrum of artistic expression as Mount Vernon’s downtown district becomes a canvas of culture.
Saturday, Aug. 9, marks the festival’s centerpiece event with Craig Morgan, a renowned figure in country music, taking the main stage at 8:30 p.m.. Earlier in the day, visitors can witness the Wood Challenge, an annual invitational featuring live demonstrations from expert woodworkers and craftsmen.
The celebration concludes on Sunday, with a relaxed lineup that encourages attendees to revisit artist booths and savor the final hours of festivities. A specially curated closing program will feature performances and community reflections to honor the festival’s legacy and express gratitude to volunteers, sponsors, and participants.
