The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County has announced a nonfiction book discussion on "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson, scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
According to the library, the discussion will focus on Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail," a New York Times bestseller. The book delves into the Appalachian Trail, which extends from Georgia to Maine and includes various natural features such as mountains, forests, and lakes. Although Bryson is not an experienced hiker, he provides insights into the trail’s history and ecology while recounting his personal experiences and encounters with others along the journey.
The event will be held in the library’s Solarium at 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon. It is free and open to the public, with all ages welcome; however, it is primarily intended for adults. For more information, attendees can call (740) 392-BOOK or visit the Main Circulation Desk. Additional details are available at www.knox.net.
