Northridge girls track team races into history with record-breaking season | Northridge Vikings Cross Country & Track and Field/fb

The Northridge High School girls' track and field team concluded a remarkable season, marked by standout performances, school records, and state-level achievements that have secured their place in the program's history.

Under the leadership of head coach Richard Featheringill, the Vikings demonstrated dominance throughout both the regular season and postseason. This success was highlighted by strong performances at invitational meets and the Licking County League championships. According to Featheringill, this momentum continued into the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Track and Field Championships, where junior Isabel Evans excelled by winning both hurdle events and setting a state record in the 300-meter hurdles.

"Isabel had a phenomenal season," Featheringill said. "But the entire team bought in, worked hard, and elevated our program to a new level."

Featheringill also noted that junior Ava Travis joined Evans on the podium by earning All-Ohio honors in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes after placing fourth in both events. With eight seniors graduating, he acknowledged the need to build depth but expressed optimism for the future as they head into 2026.

"Ava is primed for an incredible senior season," Featheringill said.

Senior leaders Courtney Bevier and Olivia Bird were commended for their guidance and effort throughout the year. Featheringill described them as contributing to a "positive, hardworking and fun" team culture.

With new facilities in place and a strong coaching staff returning, prospects appear promising for Northridge track and field.
