Knox County Director of Information Technology Kyle Webb has graduated with a Master of Science in Cybersecurity from Franklin University, leading to his promotion to Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the county.

According to a Knox County press release, Trevor Ditmars was promoted from Assistant Director of IT to Deputy Chief Information Officer. Ditmars also serves as the county's systems administrator.

"Kyle has established a team of highly skilled IT professionals," said County Administrator Jason Booth. "I am proud of the work they do on a daily basis for Knox County, ensuring county operations run effectively and efficiently. The promotions of Kyle and Trevor are well deserved, and we are fortunate to have them leading our IT department."

Webb has led the IT department since its inception in 2019. He played a pivotal role in building a secure, efficient, and forward-thinking technology infrastructure for the county. His latest degree underscores the county's commitment to digital security.

The IT Department initially focused on supporting the offices under the board of commissioners but has expanded through service agreements with the City of Mount Vernon and the Villages of Gambier and Fredericktown. The focus includes help desk support, systems administration, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, media communications, and other areas.

Webb, the son of a police officer and a firefighter, said he's not good at putting out fires or chasing bad guys but is good at fixing computers. As a member of a family of public servants, he hopes to continue serving the residents of Knox County.
