The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County kicks off its 2025 Adult Summer Reading Program on Friday, May 30. The program will run through the second Friday of July.
Interested individuals who would like to participate in this free summer reading program are advised to stop by Main Circulation at the Library to register and obtain two initial tickets for the grand prize drawing of their choice. The chances of winning will increase every time the participants check out an item from the library, attend a program, or download content from Hoopla, Kanopy, or Libby—additional grand prize drawing tickets will be given to them.
There are six grand prizes to win: a Canoe trip and Putt-Putt at Kokosing Camp and Canoe, and a Pickle Ball Set; a deluxe art kit; a family membership to the Columbus Zoo, and a $50 Visa card; a haircut and Color at Salon 361 in Mount Vernon; a puzzle board, 2-giant puzzles, and a desk lamp; and tickets to Otherworld, Columbus and a $50 Visa card.
There will also be weekly prize drawings, pop-up events and book giveaways, a bookmark contest, and a reading challenge. The program, which will end on July 11, is open to the public, where people can meet and connect with fellow book lovers.
This year's program comes with fantastic incentives from the State Library of Ohio and the Ohio Renaissance Fair, adding even more value to your summer reading adventure.
