National Kids to Parks Day 2025
On Saturday, May 17, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Ariel-Foundation Park in Mount Vernon, Ohio, families are invited to celebrate National Kids to Parks Day, a nationwide event encouraging outdoor play and park exploration, featuring free activities including a Youth Fishing Derby with poles and bait provided from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m., inflatable archery, BB guns, and games hosted by local Cub Scouts from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Knox County Head Start’s 60th Birthday party with petting zoo, bounce house, hot dogs, and more from 1-4 p.m.
TaVaci School of Performing Arts - Something About This Night!
On Saturday, May 17, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Knox Memorial Theater in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the TaVaci School of Performing Arts presents “Something About This Night!,” a lively variety show of music and drama performed by students from across Knox County, with doors opening at 4 p.m., no food or drink allowed, attendees required to show printed or digital tickets at entry, and no flash photography or video recording permitted during the performance, though a DVD or flash drive of the show will be available for purchase after the event for those wanting to preserve the memories.
