In-person early voting for the May 6 Special Election in Knox County is set to begin on Tuesday, April 8, and will conclude on Sunday, May 4. The voting will take place at the Knox County Board of Elections Office.
According to the Knox County Board of Elections website, registered voters can cast their votes in person at its Early Vote Center located on the first floor of the Board of Elections Office. The address provided is 104 East Sugar St., Mount Vernon.
The website states that from Monday through Friday, between April 8 and April 25, early voting will be available at the Early Vote Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Extended hours are scheduled to commence on Monday, April 28, continuing through Friday, May 2. On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week, early voting hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, April 29, voting will be open an additional hour until 8:30 p.m.
The webpage indicates that during the weekend preceding election day, the Early Vote Center will also be accessible to voters. Voting hours are set from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 4.
