Knox Community Hospital has announced its celebration of National Doctors Day on March 30, aimed at recognizing the contributions of physicians to patient care and medical advancements. The announcement was made in a press release on March 28, 2025.

According to Knox Community Hospital, it acknowledges its medical staff for their expertise in patient care, commitment to innovation, and role in expanding healthcare accessibility. Physicians at the hospital contribute to advancements such as telehealth, which provides remote consultations to underserved areas, and precision medicine, which customizes treatments based on individual patient profiles. These efforts are said to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes by ensuring effective, tailored care.

"Doctors are more than healers—they are innovation leaders, advocates for patient well-being, and a cornerstone of our healthcare mission," said Christine Ingram, vice president of physician practices at Knox Community Hospital. "On National Doctors Day, we come together to recognize and thank them for their expertise, compassion, and the countless ways they make a difference in people’s lives."

National Doctors Day is observed annually on March 30 to honor physicians' contributions to medicine and patient well-being. First celebrated in 1933 and officially recognized by President George H.W. Bush in 1990, the day commemorates Dr. Crawford W. Long’s 1842 use of general anesthesia in surgery. This observance highlights the progress of medical science and the dedication of doctors to advancing patient care.
