The East Knox FFA of East Knox Local Schools announced that three officers received gold ratings for their 2024-2025 chapter officer books at the District 7 evaluation, qualifying them for a State FFA rating. The announcement was made in a press release on February 26, 2025.
According to the release, East Knox FFA officers Mackenzie Wilson, Blake Elliott, and Aiden Kapper received perfect scores of 105 out of 105 along with gold ratings for their chapter officer books. The East Knox chapter was one of only four in District 7 to achieve this accomplishment, with all three officers earning gold ratings.
The chapter officer book competition encourages FFA officers to maintain accurate and complete records of their activities. As a result of their achievements, the three officers will be awarded gold pins for their respective offices at the 97th Ohio FFA Convention in May. Since the evaluation system began in 2001, East Knox FFA has consistently earned gold ratings for all three officers, with the exception of one silver-rated book.
FFA, or Future Farmers of America, is a youth organization focused on developing leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. Founded in 1928, it prepares members for careers in agriculture, business, science, education, and more. With local chapters led by student officers and agriculture teachers, FFA operates at three levels: local, state, and national. The organization provides hands-on learning experiences and opportunities for personal development. According to the National FFA Organization, FFA is supported through sponsorships, donations, and member dues.
East Knox Local School District is located in Howard, Ohio. It is home to the East Knox FFA Chapter which supports student development through agricultural education and leadership opportunities. The chapter recognizes achievements such as American and State Degrees and is led by a 2024-2025 officer team including Dylan Springer as President and Hayden Baker as Vice President.
