A Martinsburg Road resident has been charged with child pornography and drug trafficking following an investigation by Mount Vernon Police Department detectives. The arrest occurred on February 26.

According to a press release from the Mount Vernon Police Department, members of the Detective Division, with assistance from the Patrol Division, executed a search warrant at the residence on Martinsburg Road. This warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into child pornography possession.

The news release said that during the search, detectives discovered evidence of child pornography. Additionally, they found over 100 grams of cocaine, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription pills, and marijuana. These substances were seized along with a firearm and more than $10,000 in cash. Various items of drug paraphernalia suspected to be used for drug trafficking were also confiscated.

The suspect, Aaron K. Eldridge, aged 66, was arrested and taken to Knox County Jail without incident. Eldridge faces charges including pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor—a class two felony—and trafficking in drugs—a class one felony. The police indicated that additional charges may follow.

The Mount Vernon Police Department is part of the METRICH Drug Enforcement Task Force.
