The Fredericktown High School bowling teams showcased their skills at the Central District High School Bowling tournament earlier this month, emerging as top performers from the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference (KMAC).
According to the tournament results, the boys' team achieved a notable fourth-place finish, while the girls' team secured sixth place. This performance reinforces their status as strong contenders within their conference as they prepare for the state competition on February 22, 2025.
Senior Jordan Moore led the Fredericktown boys by becoming the only KMAC bowler to qualify for the state tournament. Moore's series score of 642 demonstrated his precision and consistency, distinguishing him in the district field. His teammates contributed significantly to the team's success, with Coen Frazier scoring 637, Evan Maggard adding 580, and Ryan Zollars contributing 513. Their combined efforts earned Fredericktown a commendable fourth-place finish among district teams.
The Fredericktown girls' team also made an impact with their cohesive performance despite finishing sixth. Their ranking highlights their competitive ability and underscores Fredericktown’s reputation as a formidable force in KMAC bowling.
Head coach Shaun Stephen commended both teams for their dedication and achievements. "This season has been a testament to the hard work and passion our student-athletes bring to the lanes," Stephen said in a statement. He noted that Moore's advancement to state is a historic milestone for their program and emphasized that "the girls’ sixth-place finish shows the depth of talent we have across the board."
As they approach the state competition, community support remains strong for Moore and his teammates, who aim to further elevate Fredericktown High School’s bowling programs.
