Knox Marine is gearing up for its annual Open House on March 7 and 8.
Whether you're a seasoned angler or a boating enthusiast, the event promises an exciting blend of hands-on seminars, insider tips and equipment sales.
“Our open house will have 10 different tackle vendors here,” co-owner Mike Steele told Mount Vernon News.
Steele also emphasized that some boat and motor promotions would be ending in the middle of March, offering customers the chance to take advantage of the deals before time runs out.
“A lot of the inside items we have here for marine accessories will be on sale,” he said. “Some of the boat and motor promotions will be ending in the middle of March, so we can extend those to the customers right now.”
The event will also feature a series of seminars from expert anglers.
“Different pros will be giving seminars,” he said. “I've got Wally Marshall, the Crappie King, coming in. Ken Wahl, a bass angler from out west, and Mike Defibaugh will be here for walleye seminars."
He added that attendees could ask the pros questions about specific fishing situations, providing a unique learning opportunity.
“They can ask these guys, you know, what do you do in this situation?” he said. “They'll give a basic presentation of what they use and what they’re good at and then they can answer questions for everybody.”
The seminars will take place in front of a large fish tank, where attendees can see live fish interacting with various baits, offering a visual demonstration of the techniques discussed.
"They can ask these guys, 'What do you do in this situation?' But they’ll give a basic presentation of what they use and what they’re good at, and then they can answer questions from everybody. We’ve got a huge fish tank with large walleye in it. They can actually see the baits working and, you know, get a visual of it, too."
Steele also noted that the event will feature significant sales on boats, motors, trailers and accessories.
"This will be the best time of the year for the last bit of sales on boats, motors, and trailers,” he said. “All of our accessories will just be discounted.”
With promotions on everything from boats to trailers, attendees can expect excellent discounts.
The seminars will take place on Saturday, March 8, with sessions scheduled for 10 a.m., noon, and 2 p.m.
