The Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) Jazz Band invites the community to an exciting evening of contemporary pop, jazz, and big band swing on Thursday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m. The free event will take place in Prince Student Union, offering an engaging and dynamic musical experience for the audience.
The performance will feature a diverse selection of well-known hits, including songs from The Greatest Showman, Barbra Streisand, Journey, Lady Gaga, Michael Bublé, Norah Jones, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Toto. With a repertoire spanning multiple genres, the Jazz Band promises a night of entertainment that blends classic and modern favorites.
As one of five instrumental ensembles at MVNU, the Jazz Band showcases the university’s commitment to musical excellence. Under the direction of Mr. Chuck Dettmar, the ensemble is composed of talented students from a wide range of academic majors and denominational backgrounds, according to a press release.
