The Music Department at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) will present a special recital featuring several 2024-2025 music scholarship recipients on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m.

The performance, which will be held in Thorne Performance Hall at the R.R. Hodges Chapel/Fine Arts Center, is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of instrumental and vocal performances, followed by a reception.

This recital, according to a press release, will showcase students from diverse academic backgrounds who have demonstrated musical excellence. Performers include Logan Davis, a senior Music Performance major specializing in voice, and Emma Keyse, a senior studying percussion alongside her General Music and Business Administration studies. Other featured vocalists include Joel Pettit, Nina Davis, and Emily Howie, while instrumentalists such as Brianna Rider on violin, Rosalyn Johnson on saxophone, and Claire Vallance on French horn will add to the evening’s rich musical diversity.

Students majoring in areas such as Mechanical Engineering, Speech-Pathology, Chemistry, Nursing, and Mathematics will take the stage, demonstrating MVNU’s commitment to fostering well-rounded scholars. Their involvement in various ensembles, including Una Voce Chamber Choir, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Chapel Band, reflects the university’s vibrant musical community.
