Scholarship applications are currently being accepted by the Knox County Foundation for the 2025-2026 academic year. The deadline for submission is set for 11:59 p.m. on March 1.

According to a news release from the Knox County Foundation, these scholarships are available to high school seniors, current college students, and adults pursuing associate, bachelor, or doctorate degrees. The foundation plans to award more than $1.1 million in scholarship assistance through over 160 scholarship funds in 2025 as part of its commitment to investing in education.

The news release indicates that applicants seeking scholarships based on financial need are encouraged to review the frequently asked questions (FAQs) section under the "Grants and Scholarships" tab on the foundation's website (www.knoxcf.org) for eligibility information.

The Knox County Foundation also offers Career and Technical Education scholarships, according to the news release. These are available to high school seniors and adults pursuing certification programs of two years or less through accredited institutions. The application can be found on the foundation's website and may be handwritten or completed via a fillable PDF. Four submission deadlines have been established to accommodate different start dates of participating institutions: January 15, April 15, July 15, and October 15.

Detailed information regarding eligibility requirements, application instructions, and a full list of available scholarships can be accessed on the Knox County Foundation website.

According to the foundation's website, more than 160 scholarships are available. These range from the Alexandra Letz Nursing Scholarship Fund, established in 1984 with a $10,000 contribution from Alexandra Letz and awarded to students studying to become registered nurses, to the Young Family Scholarship Fund. This fund was created in February 2020 with a $10,000 contribution from Clody Yough along with a matching grant of $5,000 from NP. Income from this fund supports scholarships for seniors or graduates of Centerburg High School or Mount Vernon High School who are entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of college.
