U.S. Rep. Troy Balderson (R-Ohio), from Ohio's 12th district, has been selected to serve as chairman of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) by Republican Study Committee (RSC) Chairman August Pfluger (R-Texas).

“I'm pleased to announce Representative Troy Balderson as the new House Energy Action Team (HEAT) Chairman,” said RSC Chairman-elect Pfluger. “His extensive experience, district production, and deep understanding of the importance of America's energy sector make him the ideal choice to lead HEAT. Rep. Balderson has consistently demonstrated his commitment to advancing strong energy policies that benefit American workers and strengthen our national security. I look forward to working with him to deliver on President Trump’s agenda and restore American energy dominance.”

HEAT, founded in 2011 by Majority Leader Steve Scalise, is a coalition of House Republicans tasked with championing and promoting commonsense, America First energy policy priorities. These include initiatives to unleash affordable, reliable American energy, strengthen U.S. national security and bring down costs for consumers.

“It is an honor to be selected to serve as Chairman of the House Energy Action Team. I look forward to working with Chairman Pfluger, Vice Chair Weber, the Trump Administration, and my Republican colleagues to deliver energy solutions that benefit American families and businesses,” Balderson said.

Balderson currently serves on the Energy, Climate, & Grid Security Subcommittee and the Environment, Manufacturing, & Critical Materials Subcommittee of the Energy and Commerce Committee. His district encompasses portions of the Utica and Marcellus Shale formations in the Appalachian Basin, which is the largest natural gas-producing region in the United States.

“Ohioans have seen firsthand how innovation in American energy creates good-paying jobs and revitalizes communities. Our nation is blessed with abundant natural resources to drive future growth and export clean, reliable energy to our allies abroad. The federal government must work alongside energy producers to develop policy solutions that meet our nation’s needs and bolster American energy security," Balderson said.

According to Balderson's website, Ohio’s 12th Congressional District consists of Licking, Fairfield, Knox, Muskingum, Coshocton, Guernsey, Morgan, Perry, and Athens counties and includes portions of Delaware, Holmes, and Tuscarawas counties.
