According to officials, roadwork on Mansfield Avenue is nearing completion.
Officials with the Mount Vernon engineering department believe the roadway, between Fairgrounds Road and Northridge Drive, will reopen on Tuesday, Dec. 24 at approximately 5 p.m.
The road closure began on Dec. 12 to initiate one of two culvert replacements and is not open to any traffic, including emergency traffic.
Although this phase of work is almost complete, Mansfield Road will have to be closed again in the spring for the same amount of time to replace the second culvert. The public will receive two-weeks notice before the spring roadwork begins.
