The Fredericktown boys basketball team dropped its season opener to North Union on Nov. 27, falling 81-66 in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest.
The Freddies fought hard throughout the game, shooting 33% from three-point range and 57.6% from the field. However, turnovers plagued the team, as they committed 24 on the night and also picked up 19 personal fouls.
Fredericktown found success inside, scoring 50 of their 66 points in the paint and out-rebounding North Union 31-16. Zane Luckmeier led the way for the Freddies with 21 points, while Blake Sipes added 17.
Carson Rinehart led the team with three assists.
North Union was led by Miles Hall, who posted a game-high 42 points in the win.
