The Mt. Vernon Yellow Jackets will travel to face off against the Granville Blue Aces on Friday for their final game of the regular season.
Mt. Vernon has a lot to prove in this final game as they are coming off a 48-14 loss at the hands of Licking Valley. It looks to be a tough match-up though, as Granville is ranked 121 in the state and only has one loss in their resume this year.
Quarterback Mason Richards, was a bright start for the Yellow Jackets last week, as he rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown. Mavrik Gregory, Mount Vernon’s star running back, also rushed for 80 yards.
Meanwhile, Granville had no problem with the Zanesville Blue Devils on the road last week as they completely dominated and won their game, 45-0. The result was nothing new for the Blue Aces, who have won six match-ups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Mount Vernon comes into this week’s match-up with a losing record of 2-7, while Granville is 8-1. Kickoff will take place at 7:00 p.m.
