Lester throws two touchdowns in Bulldogs victory over Mount Gilead

On Friday, Sept. 27, the East Knox Bulldogs defeated the Mount Gilead Indians with a shutout score of 20-0.

The Bulldogs scored in each of the first three quarters, with a touchdown in each.

EK quarterback Jaxon Lester threw a 53-yard bomb to wide receiver Shane Gardner, resulting in the first of three EK touchdowns in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, East Knox kept the passing attack going as Lester found another wideout, Logan Clark, for a 22-yard pass turned touchdown.

The Bulldogs scored their final touchdown in the third quarter, as Blake Elliot was inserted at quarterback and threw a 3-yard pass to Gardner, resulting in a 3-yard score.

Lester finished the night completing 20 out of 34 pass attempts for a total of 229 yards and 2 touchdowns with one interception. He also had the most running yards for EK on the night as he carried the ball 14 times for 54 yards on the ground. 

Elliot, who plays defense as well as being the starting running back, led the Bulldogs defensive attack with 6 tackles, 8 assists on other tackles, and a sack, which included a tackle for loss. 

East Knox advances to 4-2 on the season and will look to beat the undefeated Northmor Knights in a conference-play game.
