Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU) has offered a Business Partner Scholarship to all Licking Heights Local Schools employees and their immediate families. The $500 per semester scholarship assists students in completing an undergraduate or graduate degree program from MVNU.

"MVNU is excited to offer partnerships to school districts both local and throughout the state," said Ross Carter, MVNU’s P-12 Education Partnership coordinator, according to an MVNU news release. "We offer unique opportunities for districts to tailor professional development for their staff, specific to the needs of their districts."

According to the MVNU news release, certified, classified, and exempt Licking Heights employees and their immediate families are eligible. Courses will be taken through MVNU's fully online School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Participants may earn an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree. This allows them to earn anything from a bachelor's degree to an Ohio teaching license to a master's in education.

Licking Heights Director of Human Resources Jocelyn Cosgrave said investing in their staff's education and professional development is a top priority. She stated that they want to provide accessible, affordable pathways to achieving the degrees, licenses, or certifications necessary to achieve their goals and support the school district's students.
