Knox Community Hospital’s (KCH) Stroke Program Coordinator, Amanda Wells, RN, was recognized at the Ohio Hospital Association’s (OHA) annual awards dinner on Tuesday, June 11, as a nominee for the 2024 OHA HealthCare Worker of the Year. The event was attended by more than 350 healthcare staff and OHA officials.

Her nomination states, "Amanda’s tireless efforts in developing KCH's first stroke program and leading the hospital's initiative to become an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital are a testament to her commitment to excellence. Her ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, coupled with her role as a mentor and educator, has significantly impacted not only the organization but also the wider healthcare community. Amanda's proactive approach and collaborative spirit have led to tangible improvements in patient care and safety. She embodies the mission, vision, and values of Knox Community Hospital, working to ensure the well-being of patients and the community. Amanda's outreach efforts, including her service at informational booths at community events and farmers' markets, demonstrate her dedication to raising awareness and preventing strokes.”
