Experience Mount Vernon hosts July First Friday

Experience Mount Vernon is thrilled to announce July First Friday, taking place on Friday, July 5 in Downtown Mount Vernon. This year’s theme, “Summer Camp,” promises a fun-filled evening of activities for families and community members of all ages, generously sponsored by Griffin Insurance. 

July First Friday takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. and will include summer camp-themed activities, live music, food and refreshments, the MVNU Athletics Activity Zone, a community corner, a touch-a-truck, a photo booth and over 100 exhibitors and vendors.

“We are excited to bring the spirit of summer camp to the heart of Mount Vernon,” said Lacey Filkins, executive director of Experience Mount Vernon. “This event is designed to foster community spirit and create lasting memories for residents and visitors alike.” 

Halle Krajenski, Experience Mount Vernon board member and events committee chair for added, “We are grateful to Griffin Insurance for their generous sponsorship, which has made this event possible. We’re sure it will be a ‘camp-tastic’ evening!”

Starting at 3:30 p.m., parking will close on Main Street from Chestnut Street to Ohio Avenue, including one block east and west, and around Public Square. All parked vehicles should be removed from said streets by 3:30 p.m. Streets will close through traffic at 4 p.m. to allow for exhibitors and vendors to set up. Parking can be found at public lots on South Gay and Mulberry Streets as well as any open street parking. A free bicycle valet will be provided by Knox Public Health in the Blue Ash Parking Lot on East Ohio Avenue.
