According to the American Cancer Society, a cancer survivor is “anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, no matter where they are in the course of their disease.” To celebrate and recognize local cancer survivors, Knox Community Hospital (KCH) invites the community to attend the Cancer Survivor Event on Wednesday, June 19. This free event will be held at the Glenn A. Gallagher Centre community room; doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the program and speakers beginning at 6 p.m.

As survivors of cancer often find that hope and positivity are key to their health, the theme of this event is “Hope Grows Here.” Guest speakers will share their cancer experiences and insights, and Mount Vernon Mayor Matt Starr's proclamation will kick off the event. The evening includes appetizers, beverages, door prizes and a professional photographer.

Cancer survivors and their guests are encouraged to attend. Valet parking will be provided for all cancer survivors courtesy of the KCH Building Services staff. Join KCH for this special evening to celebrate cancer awareness, survivorship, and prevention.

RSVP is required by June 12. To register, call 740-393-9621 or visit cognitoforms.com/KnoxCommunityHospital1/CancerSurvivorEvent.
