Licking/Knox Goodwill is hosting a Prom and Bridal Extravaganza to provide free and low-cost formal ware to local students.

The event will be held at The Grove by the River, 840 Hollander Street, Newark, on April 6. Doors are open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This program launched in early 2014 and has collected donations from Goodwill stores and brought them together in one space. There are dresses in every size, shape, and color.

Attendees have the chance to browse, try on, and take home their prom dresses. Prom dresses at the event are priced at $30 or less. There are also bridal gowns, bride’s maid dresses, mother’s dresses, some children’s dresses, and formal shoes.

Students in need may receive their dress for free. To receive a free dress, students will need to bring proof of need and identification to the event. Proof of need can be a letter of referral from their school or another agency, a copy of a medical card, etc.

Those who would like to contribute to this program can drop off their formal wear at any Licking/Knox Goodwill retail store or visit the banquet hall at The Grove by the River.
